At Ellis Dental we take pride in educating our patients. The relationship between oral health and overall health is important and we are committed to offering and educating our patients on the most effective dental products. Many of you know me but for those of you who do not, my name is Jen and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and I have been with Ellis Dental since 2014. In this blog post I will share some information on several products that we offer that can truly make a difference when used regularly.
Electric Toothbrushes
Electric brushes clean the teeth more effectively than a traditional manual brush. Ellis Dental carries both adult and child size electric brushes. There are many different features with these brushes, for example, our professional electric brushes have a 2-minute timer which ensures you brush all of the surfaces of the teeth. The hygienists at Ellis Dental have seen great results with our patients that regularly use an electric brush. In particular, patients that regularly use an electric brush have less plaque, less gum bleeding and less gingival inflammation. At your next appointment ask your hygienist about using our test drive brush. The test drive allows our patients to try out an electric brush in our office to see if you like it. We always say to our patients, “Once you switch from a manual brush to an electric brush, you will never switch back.”
Waterpik - Ellis Dental
Waterpik
The Waterpik is a great tool you can use to clean in-between your teeth. Waterpik uses a stream of pulsating water to remove both plaque and debris in-between the teeth. Ellis Dental offers the cordless Waterpik, which is more compact and allows you to use it anywhere you want. The Waterpik is especially beneficial for patients who have dexterity problems and patients currently in orthodontics. This tool can help reach the places that are hard to access with your brush.
Mouth Rinse
Oracare mouth rinse is a rinse that has multiple benefits and the team at Ellis Dental highly recommends it to our patients. This mouth rinse is great for patients with gingival bleeding, inflammation, dry mouth, mouth sores and bad breath. Oracare is not only beneficial to keeping a healthy mouth but it also has a great taste.
Clinpro - Ellis Dental
Toothpaste
There are many different toothpastes on the market, each claiming to provide an array of benefits. At Ellis Dental we offer Clinpro, which is a prescription strength fluoridated toothpaste that we often recommend to our patients. Clinpro has nearly 5 times the strength of fluoride when compared to traditional over the counter toothpaste. It is great for patients who have a high decay risk, multiple restorations and patients that are currently in orthodontic treatment plans.
